Smart Uses for Toothpaste (other than cleaning your teeth)

Life Style |

For many of us, using toothpaste is just a natural part of our morning and evening. Brushing our teeth with a minty paste is just something that we’ve all grown extremely used to doing.

However, if you are used to working with toothpaste a lot then you might have noticed it can have some other uses. What else, though, could you start using toothpaste for?

Does it hold any other kind of use that could make your day-to-day life easier? Other than leaving us with minty-fresh breath, what else can toothpaste do?

Cleaning your cutlery

Sick of scrubbing away and away and away again at the washbasin? Then use some toothpaste to help you.

You can use toothpaste to clean up and buff just about any piece of silverware at home. The best way to do this is to use a non-gel toothpaste that isn’t meant for teeth whitening. Rub the silverware in this substance, and then wipe it off before drying. This should clean up those knives, forks, and spoons in no time!

Whiten your shoes

A fine example of what you could use toothpaste for, too, would be to whiten up your shoes.

If you have a pair of leather sneakers, then a bit of toothpaste and a tablespoon of baking soda, as well as a tablespoon of water, should work perfectly.

Use the toothbrush and rub the solution into the stains on the shoes, and rubbing with a soft but secure circular motion. When done, wipe it down and voila! Done.

Cleaning the tiles

A fine example of what you could use toothpaste for, too, would be to whiten the tiles on your floor.

If you have a linoleum floor, then you can fill in things like scuffs and scrapes. Simply rub the white toothpaste into the tile and use a clean cloth to do so.

Once the toothpaste is on the ground, simply buff away at it until you cannot see the toothpaste. It will have filled in those garish eyesores on the floor!

Cleaning the sink

When you are in the bathroom and scrubbing your teeth, you probably have noticed all the drops of toothpaste that get into the sink.

If you use them to your advantage, you could get that sink gleaming nice and shiny again. Simply get some white toothpaste and put it on a damp sponge, and then clean in a circular motion.

This should leave your sink looking all sparkly and clean once again.

Cleaning the faucets

Another good way to use toothpaste is if you have chrome faucets and handles in your bathroom/anywhere at home.

Toothpaste is a fine polishing item for chrome, so you just need to polish these with a small amount of toothpaste.

It’s a great way to get them sparkling once again. use a small amount on a clean cloth and then rub it away once you are done. Job done, your faucets now look sparkly and shiny once again!
